1. Effective Approaches to Engaging Students in OER/ZTC Efforts-
Marissa Martinez, Michelson 20MM Foundation
Students are effective change makers who can support OER advocacy on your campuses. This session will explore how you can strategically fit students into the advocacy for your OER program and facilitate a discussion on effective ways to engage with students on your campus.
2. Establishing ZTC General Education (GE) Course Sections Using OER-
ASCCC OERI
Join us for an overview of the available OER for each of the Cal-GETC areas - and to share your unique ZTC GE challenges. Which GE areas are well-served - and which would benefit most from new OER development?
3. OER and ZTC Advocacy 101- Jamie Thomas and Maritez Apigo, Contra Costa College
Come join us for an interactive session on ZTC advocacy strategies, from communicating OER basics to organizing data-gathering infrastructure on your campus. We’ll also have dedicated time for developing an “elevator pitch” to help you communicate with various partners, including bookstore managers, academic senate, institutional research, counselors, and other constituents at your college. All attendees will receive a digital goody bag of resources!
4. Harnessing AI to Overcome OER Challenges- Judith Sebesta, Sebesta Education Consulting LLC
In this session, we will explore a range of AI-powered solutions -- including content creation, ancillary development, and others -- to common challenges that creators and adaptors of OER may face. You will also leave with strategies for prompt engineering and a polemic to consider regarding the intersection of AI and OER.
5. ZTC for Hope Scholars and Competency Based Education- Laurie Runk, Coastline College
Discover how Coastline College has leveraged ZTC funds to revolutionize educational pathways for Hope Scholars and Competency-Based Education students. Though these programs serve different populations, they share a common goal: creating equitable, student-centered learning experiences that open doors to brighter futures.
